BIOGRAPHY

Christian Jormin has long been professionally active as a pianist, drummer, percussionist and composer in genres such as jazz, improvisation, folk music and contemporary dance art. Currently a member of the groups; Christian Jormin Trio, Eva Kruse Quintet, Anders & Christian Jormin Duo, Den Fule and Henrik Wallgren Band.

 

Christian has also been heard in groups and contexts such as; Gunnel Mauritzson Band, Bohuslän Big Band, Gotlands Sinfonietta, Radiojazzgruppen, Jazz Baltica Ensemble and the choir Ymna. Concerted in Sweden and internationally since the 80's. In recent years in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Japan, India, Senegal and Taiwan, among other countries.

In addition to music for his own projects, Christian has also composed for dance, theater, choir and poetry performances. For a long time he has worked in joyful collaborations with modern dancers, both as a composer and improviser. It started already in the 90s with the dance group Floke, then pioneers in free improvisation as a performing arts form in the dance world.

He is a trained teacher and "gong master" in Kundalini yoga. Has been teaching for over 10 years and gives regular

so-called gong baths under the auspices of Brännö Kundalini Yoga and on request.
